The Detroit Lions lead by five points at the break in their NFL clash against the Green Bay Packers at Ford Field.

A defensive touchdown and safety from the Detroit Lions has given them a five-point lead over the Green Bay Packers at the break at Ford Field.

The Lions got off the perfect start in the game when Packers running back Eddie Lacy fumbled the ball and cornerback Don Carey capitalised on the error as he returned the ball all the way for a touchdown.

Green Bay took their time to level the scores but Aaron Rodgers eventually got his team back on track as he moved them inside the 20 and then found tight end Andrew Quarless in the endzone.

An interception of Matt Stafford proved to be a positive for the Lions despite them losing possession as Davon House made the grab on his one-yard line. The next play Lacy was decked in his own endzone, which resulted in two points for the home side.

Nate Freese then added a field goal to further extend the Lions' lead, but he missed late in the half to prevent his side taking an eight-point advantage into the break.
