Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Bournemouth

Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Bournemouth.
Sports Mole

Seeking an immediate return to winning ways in the Premier League, Arsenal head south to face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Mikel Arteta's side failed to hang on to a pair of one-goal leads in a 2-2 draw with North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday, moving them onto 14 points from their opening six matches.

However, the Gunners progressed to the fourth round of the EFL Cup on Wednesday evening, sinking London rivals Brentford 1-0 thanks to an early Reiss Nelson goal.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's injury and suspension news ahead of their showdown with the Cherries, who overcame Stoke City 2-0 in their third-round EFL Cup showdown.

William Saliba

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: September 30 (vs. Bournemouth)

William Saliba was seemingly only rested against Brentford, but Arteta revealed at his pre-game press conference that the Frenchman had picked up a knock, and he has emerged as a doubt for the trip south.

Fabio Vieira

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Unspecified
Possible return date: September 30 (vs. Bournemouth)

Similarly, Fabio Vieira was not fit enough to face Brentford in midweek, according to Arteta, and the Portuguese playmaker will need assessing ahead of this contest.

Declan Rice

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Back
Possible return date: September 30 (vs. Bournemouth)

Declan Rice was unable to carry on after half time in the North London derby due to a back injury, which also forced him to miss Wednesday's win at Brentford. Arteta is confident that his record signing has not suffered serious damage, but he is still sweating over the fitness of the midfielder ahead of Saturday's clash.

Leandro Trossard

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: September 30 (vs. Bournemouth)

Leandro Trossard sustained a thigh injury in training last week and has been sidelined for Arsenal's last two matches, but there is a slim chance that the Belgian attacker could be fit for the weekend.

Bukayo Saka

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: September 30 (vs. Bournemouth)

Bukayo Saka limped off in the dying embers of last weekend's draw with Spurs owing to a knock, and having sat out the success over Brentford, Arteta has admitted that it is a "possibility" that the England international could remain unavailable for the trip south.

Gabriel Martinelli

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: September 30 (vs. Bournemouth)

Gabriel Martinelli has not been seen on the field since picking up a hamstring injury against Everton two weekends ago, and while Arteta has so far not ruled him out of the Bournemouth clash, it is difficult to envisage the Brazilian making himself available.

Thomas Partey

Status: Out
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: October 21 (vs. Chelsea)

Thomas Partey was the victim of a groin injury in a training session prior to the international break, and it should be another few weeks before the Ghanaian midfielder is given the green light to return to action.

Jurrien Timber

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

The long-term occupant of a spot in the Arsenal treatment room, Jurrien Timber sustained an ACL injury on his Premier League debut against Nottingham Forest and is facing several months of rehabilitation.
