Sports Mole takes a closer look at today's Premier League clash between Chelsea and Norwich City at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea maintained their unbeaten start to the Premier League season with a comprehensive 4-1 victory over Norwich City at Stamford Bridge.

Fernando Torres's header cancelled out Grant Holt's shock opener, before goals by Frank Lampard, Eden Hazard and Branislav Ivanovic sealed three points for the Blues.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look to see where Chelsea won the game.

Was the result fair?

Absolutely. Chelsea dominated from start to finish and thoroughly deserved the three points today.

Chelsea's performance

The midfield trio of Juan Mata, Eden Hazard and Oscar look as good as any in the league going forward. It remains to be seen if they have enough steel in the big games, but they were irresistible today. The goal they conceded was a fantastic strike from Grant Holt, even if it was route-one build-up play. Other than that, they looked competent in defence. It will be better tested against superior opposition. Fernando Torres scored a good header, but still does not look like the player he was at Liverpool. John Terry and Ashley Cole put in quietly efficient performances and won't be making any headlines for their performance in this game, though that probably can't be said for matters off the pitch.

Norwich's performance

Norwich were completely overwhelmed in midfield today. They were chasing shadows at times as Mata, Oscar and Hazard lit up Stamford Bridge. Grant Holt was the lone striker and was a bit isolated. He got on the end of two Bradley Johnson crosses but got neither effort on target. He will be pleased with the way he took his goal though. It was only just out shined by Branislav Ivanovic's terrific volley. John Ruddy was brilliant in goal and it would have been far worse for the Canaries had it not been for his presence.

Referee's performance

I think that Anthony Taylor will be disappointed when he sees Hazard's penalty claim that he waved away. Leon Barnett clearly impeded the Belgian as he chased a loose ball in the Norwich area. John Terry also had a decent shout when his shirt was tugged as he tried to get on the end of a flick-on by Fernando Torres. However, in that instance, you would hope that the assistant referee would've given him a helping hand.

Sports Mole's man of the match

Juan Mata takes the accolade ahead of Eden Hazard and Oscar. The Spaniard was in sublime form this afternoon. Norwich had absolutely no answer to his trickery and guile.

Biggest gaffe

Either Torres dithering on an early chance and being tackled by Barnett, or referee Taylor not giving the Hazard penalty.

What's next?

Chelsea: Chelsea face a tough trip to White Hart Lane to play Tottenham Hotspur in the early kickoff next Saturday.

Norwich: Meanwhile, the Canaries welcome Arsenal to Carrow Road in the late kickoff.
