Werner, Davies, Udogie - Tottenham injury news and return dates before Chelsea clash

Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham Hotspur's injury and suspension news ahead of Thursday's Premier League London derby with Chelsea.
Sports Mole

Ending a two-game losing run will be the goal for Tottenham Hotspur when they head to West London to face capital rivals Chelsea in Thursday's Premier League fixture.

Ange Postecoglou's men came close to completing an exceptional fightback in Sunday's North London derby with Arsenal, but their second-half efforts were ultimately in vain in a painful 3-2 defeat.

As a result, the Lilywhites' Champions League hopes are now out of their own hands once more, as they occupy fifth place in the table with a seven-point gap to make up to Aston Villa, who have played two games more.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest with the Blues, who had done their visitors a favour on Saturday by fighting back to hold Villa to a 2-2 draw.

Timo Werner

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

RB Leipzig loanee Timo Werner started on the left in the North London derby but then had to be withdrawn owing to a suspected thigh injury, which is expected to rule him out for the rest of the season.

Ben Davies

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown

One of two fresh blows for Tottenham to contend with, Ben Davies picked up a calf issue in the loss to Arsenal, and the left-back has also been ruled out of Tottenham's final five fixtures.

Oliver Skipp

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: May 2 (vs. Chelsea)

Oliver Skipp was unavailable for the visit of Arsenal due to a knock sustained in training, but the Englishman is thought to be in with a good chance of making his return for the midweek showdown.

Destiny Udogie

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

Earlier this month, Destiny Udogie announced that he had undergone season-ending surgery on a thigh injury, and his procedure will also force him to miss Euro 2024.

Fraser Forster

Status: Out
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: Unknown

Back in February, Fraser Forster was ruled out for a couple of months due to a foot fracture, but it is now believed that the goalkeeper could sit out the remainder of the season.

Manor Solomon

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Manor Solomon is in the same boat, as the Israeli attacker has now undergone multiple operations on a troublesome knee injury and is instead targeting a return in pre-season.

Ryan Sessegnon

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Completing Spurs' list of season-ending injuries, the luckless Ryan Sessegnon is recuperating from a thigh operation after hurting himself in Under-21s action and still has several weeks of recovery ahead of him.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR'S SUSPENSION LIST

Tottenham Hotspur have no suspended players for this derby.
