Manchester United will be bidding to end a disappointing 2023-24 Premier League campaign on a positive note when they head to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday afternoon.

Erik ten Hag's side recorded a 3-2 victory over Newcastle United on Wednesday evening, with the result moving them onto 57 points from their 37 league matches this term.

The 20-time English champions remain eighth in the table, level on points with seventh-placed Newcastle in the race to secure European football for next season.

The Red Devils, though, can also qualify for the 2024-25 Europa League by beating Manchester City in the FA Cup final on May 25.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Brighton, who are 10th in the division.

Mason Mount

Status: Minor doubt

Possible return date: May 19 (vs. Brighton)

Mount suffered another injury problem ahead of the Arsenal match last weekend, but the England international is expected to return to the squad on Sunday afternoon.

Harry Maguire

Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: May 25 (vs. Manchester City)

Maguire will miss the end of the Premier League season due to a muscular problem, but the centre-back has a chance of being back for the FA Cup final.

Raphael Varane

Possible return date: May 19 (vs. Brighton)

Varane, who is leaving Man United this summer, was forced off at the interval of the Premier League clash with Chelsea last month due to another injury problem, but he could return to the squad this weekend.

Victor Lindelof

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: May 25 (vs. Manchester City)

Lindelof will again be absent on Sunday due to the hamstring issue which he picked up in the contest with Brentford at the end of March, but there is a chance that he could return for the FA Cup final.

Tyrell Malacia

Status: Out

Possible return date: Unknown

Malacia is bidding to recover from a knee injury which has required two separate operations, and the Dutchman will not be available for Man United until next season.

Anthony Martial

Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: May 19 (vs. Brighton)

Luke Shaw
