Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United played out a goalless draw to extend their respective unbeaten records in the Premier League this afternoon.

Juan Mata came closest to breaking the deadlock, hitting the post with a deflected free kick before Vlad Chiriches cleared the rebound off the line.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at who stood out at White Hart Lane.

SPURS

Goal

Hugo Lloris: Made a string of vital first-half saves to keep his side in the match, including two very good ones to deny Van Persie and Young. Less busy in the second half, but still the best player on the park. (8/10)

Defence

Vlad Chiriches: Cleared the ball off the line after Mata's free kick had hit the post and made a number of other decent contributions throughout. (7/10)

Jan Vertonghen: Was involved in a running battle with Van Persie and, more often than not, came out on top. A composed performance at the back. (7/10)

Federico Fazio: Was sometimes found lacking on the ground during the first half, but improved after the break and was dominant in the air throughout. Also drew a good save from De Gea in the second half. (7/10)

Ben Davies: Called in to replace Danny Rose and put in a solid if unspectacular performance at left-back. (6/10)

Midfield

Benjamin Stambouli: Struggled to contain the threat of Mata, who pulled the strings for United in the first half. Improved in the second half, but was still lacking a bit of quality in possession. (6/10)

Ryan Mason: Missed a really good chance to nick a winner late on, but showed his usual energy and desire to get up there in support of Kane. Got through plenty of work, but could not provide that flash of quality. (6/10)

Nacer Chadli: Was largely anonymous during his time on the field, failing to get any joy down his flank before being withdrawn. (5/10)

Christian Eriksen: Looked most likely to craft something for Spurs, but was kept out of the game for long periods, particularly in the first half. (6/10)

Andros Townsend: Had a couple of decent efforts from range that worked De Gea, but struggled to cause the United defence too many problems. (6/10)

Attack

Harry Kane: Did not have many chances to add to his goalscoring tally for the season due to a lack of service. Did really well to create an opening for Mason late on, though, and worked his socks off for the team. (7/10)

Substitutes

Erik Lamela: Only handed a 12-minute cameo and was unable to influence the game during that time. (6/10)

Mousa Dembele: Came on at the same time as Lamela in a double change, but also failed to have a noticeable impact. (6/10)

MAN UTD

Goal

David de Gea: No need for any of his recent heroics, with most of his saves being routine ones, or at least made to look that way. (7/10)

Defence

Paddy McNair: Did not look entirely convincing for the visitors, but helped to keep an in-form Kane quiet for most of the game. (6/10)

Phil Jones: Saw a goal correctly disallowed for offside in the first half having squeezed the ball over the line. Solid in defence throughout. (7/10)

Jonny Evans: Decent enough at the back as he helped United to a clean sheet, but was wasteful in possession and sliced a few passes a long way off target before being withdrawn. (6/10)

Midfield

Antonio Valencia: Was forced off at half time due to injury having put in a solid display in the opening 45 minutes. (6/10)

Michael Carrick: Played his usual role of keeping possession and helping United to gain control of the match in the first half. Had less joy in that respect after the break, but still a good performance. (7/10)

Wayne Rooney: Missed a decent headed chance that he would usually expect to take. Was influential in his deeper role during the first half, but faded as Spurs got back into the game after the break. (7/10)

Juan Mata: United's best player. Was a creative hub, particularly in the first half, as the visitors made a number of good chances. Hit the post with a deflected free kick, but also missed a glorious chance to break the deadlock in the second half. (8/10)

Ashley Young: Continues to grow into his wing-back role. Was a real threat down the left in the first 45 minutes especially, providing a number of good crosses and drawing a spectacular stop from Lloris right at the end of the half. (7/10)

Attack

Robin van Persie: Missed a glorious chance to break the deadlock having taken the ball down inside the six-yard box, but was ultimately denied by Lloris when you would have backed him to score. Came off second best in his duel with Vertonghen. (5/10)

Radamel Falcao: Also missed a couple of good chances and looked like he struggled with playing two games in such a short space of time. (5/10)

Substitutes

Rafael: Replaced the injured Valencia at half time but could not get forward as much as he might have liked. Did manage to set up a good chance for Mata, though. (6/10)

Chris Smalling: Came on in the 72nd minute and helped United to hold out against a late bout of pressure from Spurs. (6/10)

Luke Shaw: Introduced for the final 15 minutes as United switched to a 4-4-2 formation, but was not involved much during his time on the field. (6/10)
