Sports Mole

Peterborough United host Burton Albion at the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday, in search of a third consecutive League One victory.

Dino Maamria is looking for his third win as Burton boss since he replaced Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at the helm of the Staffordshire club at the beginning of last month.

Match preview

The Posh moved up to seventh in League One last weekend with a 3-2 victory at MK Dons courtesy of goals from Jonson Clarke-Harris, Kwame Poku and Ricky-Jade Jones.

Grant McCann's side were made to sweat towards the end of the game with the Dons scoring in the 90th and 91st minutes, but they managed to secure just their second away win of the season.

Captain Clarke-Harris regained his control of the League One goalscoring charts, moving to eight for the season, five of which have come in home games, but he has a long way to go to reach his tally of 31 from two seasons ago.

Peterborough have been good defensively at home this term only conceding once, keeping clean sheets in each of their four victories, scoring 12 times at the other end, too.

The Brewers suffered their ninth defeat of the season on Tuesday night, falling to a 1-0 defeat at home to Fleetwood Town.

Maamria's side has conceded a league-worst 27 goals in their 12 games, including four at Cambridge United and Accrington Stanley.

Having started the season with just one point from eight games, things were already starting to look bleak for Burton.

However, they have won two of their last three matches, including last Saturday's comeback victory against Forest Green Rovers.

Victor Adeboyejo's hat-trick turned the game around to give the 10-man Brewers a 3-2 win and lift them up a place to 23rd in the table.

Team News

Peterborough could name an unchanged side from the one that beat MK Dons, which means that England Under-20 international Ronnie Edwards will only be on the bench.

Summer signing Kell Watts could join him there as the Newcastle United loanee joined up with the squad for the first time after completing his rehabilitation on a knee injury at his parent club.

Burton have Tom Hamer back from suspension but they could be without Davis Keillor-Dunn after he was withdrawn before half time in the defeat against Fleetwood.

There are no other new injury worries for Maamria to contend with, but he remains without Ciaran Gilligan and Corrie Ndaba as well as long-term absentees Michael Mancienne and Conor Shaughnessy.

Peterborough United possible starting lineup:
Bergstrom; Ward, Knight, Kent, Butler; Thompson, Fuchs, Taylor; Poku, Clarke-Harris, Jones

Burton Albion possible starting lineup:
Garratt; Hamer, Hughes, Brayford, Borthwick-Jackson; Taylor, Oshilaja; Smith, Winnall, Carayol; Adeboyejo

We say: Peterborough United 2-0 Burton Albion

It will not be a straightforward game for Peterborough by any means, but they should have enough to pick up the win here. Burton are improving but we still expect them to fall short in this one.
