Sports Mole previews Easter Monday's Championship clash between Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton at Hillsborough.

Championship survival is still just about in Charlton Athletic's own hands, but with a fiercely-contested relegation battle shaping up they will eye Easter Monday's match against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough as a must-win encounter.

The Addicks remain in 21st-placed following the first part of the Easter weekend schedule, despite Millwall climbing out of the bottom three courtesy of a third win in four games.

A goalless draw against Bolton Wanderers on Good Friday was enough to keep Charlton's head above the water, with Millwall's place in the relegation zone being taken by a Blackpool side who were once eyeing the playoffs this season.

However, picking up solitary points here and there may not be enough in the final four games of the campaign, and Jose Riga needs a return to winning ways sooner rather than later if his side are to stay up this season.

It is now three matches without a victory for Charlton, during which time they have scored just one goal, but they do have the luxury of a game in hand over five of the six teams still realistically battling against the drop.

That game in hand only becomes relevant if they can take advantage of it, however, and failure to do so could leave the final-day meeting with Blackpool as a winner-takes-all encounter.

The Addicks have improved away from home recently, however, with two victories from their last four games on the road and three clean sheets from their last five.

The visitors will still be missing Rhoys Wiggins through injury but Marvin Sordell and Chris Solly are both pushing for a return to the starting lineup.

It was not too long ago that Wednesday would have been fearing a similar task to the one that Charlton currently face, but their relegation worries have long since evaporated and they are now just playing for pride.

A point could be enough to see them mathematically safe from the drop, but the Owls will be eyeing all three having brought an end to Bournemouth's good form on Friday with a 4-2 victory.

That made it three games without defeat for Stuart Gray's side, but the joy at having scored 10 goals in that time will be tempered somewhat by the fact that they have also conceded eight.

Their form at home could also be beginning to worry the manager, who has seen his side concede seven goals in their last two games at Hillsborough to end a four-match winning streak.

The hosts could be handed a boost at the back with the potential return of Glenn Loovens, but Lewis Buxton is a doubt while Sam Hutchinson is suspended.
