Mark Hughes: 'Kenwyne Jones could return against Chelsea'

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes reveals that striker Kenwyne Jones could return to the first-team squad for the game with Chelsea in the FA Cup fourth round.

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has admitted that "several discussions" have taken place with Kenwyne Jones regarding the striker's conduct ahead of the Premier League match with Liverpool two weeks ago.

Jones informed Hughes via text message that he didn't want to feature in the Britannia Stadium clash, but after being fined two weeks' wages, Hughes has revealed that the Trinidad and Tobago international has applied himself correctly since the incident.

The 50-year-old is quoted by ESPN as saying: "At the time, I was not happy with what happened. We have discussed a few things, and he knows the situation and the club's feelings on the issue.

"The club is aware of the player's feelings as well. He has trained correctly since. He has shown that he wants to do things right and be professional, and he is available for selection."

Jones has scored five times in 10 appearances this season, but none has been netted in the Premier League.
