Swansea City captain Ashley Williams has given his backing to Jonjo Shelvey following the midfielder's mistakes against former club Liverpool.
A couple of sloppy passes from the 21-year-old led to two goals for Liverpool following Shelvey's opening strike, but the midfielder redeemed himself by setting up Michu's goal to secure a 2-2 draw.
"We have a game Thursday and then we've got a game Sunday so it doesn't stay with you for too long, but it definitely hurts at the time," BBC Sport quotes Williams as saying.
"It's an honest mistake. What are you going to do? You can't have a go at him. I'd rather have a go at someone that didn't give 100%. No-one's blaming him or anything. It's just one of those days."
Shelvey apologised to the Swansea fans after the match.
