Bath Rugby beat Toulouse 35-18 to keep alive their European Rugby Champions Cup hopes in a make-or-break battle at Stade Ernest-Wallon.

Bath Rugby have picked up a 35-18 victory away at Toulouse to climb up to second place in the European Rugby Champions Cup Pool 2 standings.

George Ford kicked the first points of the game with his third-minute penalty, before Matthew Banahan crossed over following some fine play from the visiting side.

Toulouse were straight back in the contest when, after referring to the TMO, the referee allowed Yoann Maestri's try to stand with the French outfit building up some momentum.

Chris Cook and Jonathan Joseph were next to find the whitewash within three minutes of each other; the first coming on the back of an interception, while Joseph's came about courtesy of some fine work from Kyle Eastmond to provide one of the tries of the round.

Yohan Huget did manage to reduce the arrears, cutting his way through the Bath defence to score a fine solo effort, and Toby Flood's successful pen on the brink of half time to cut the deficit to 10 points.

Flood found the sticks once more shortly after the restart to leave the tie delicately poised, but Francois Louw sealed things eight minutes from time following some more fantastic work by Joseph, who chipped through, regathered and helped feed his teammate.

The final act of the game saw Flood kick over his third pen of the evening to seal a memorable victory for Bath, in a game which they had to win to keep alive their hopes of progression.
