Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim has revealed that quarterback Carson Palmer is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a torn ACL.
The 35-year-old sustained the injury in week 10 of the season when he fell awkwardly during his side's win over the St Louis Rams, and as a result was ruled out for the rest of the season.
However, Palmer is now on course to join his teammates when his side's off-season activities begin in May after successfully recovering from surgery.
"He's awesome," Keim told KTAR-FM Phoenix. "He came in, I believe it was yesterday and I talked to him at length, he's more energised than ever and he looked fantastic."
Palmer threw for 1,626 yards and 11 touchdowns to three interceptions for the Cardinals in the 2014 campaign.
