Atlanta Falcons coach Mike Smith has revealed that Matt Ryan does not require surgery on his shoulder injury.
Smith said that Ryan has started work on his weight training and is expected to be fit well before the start of next season.
"He's been working in the training room, and this week he started working in the weight room," NFL.com quotes Smith as saying.
"He's recovered and we absolutely expect him to be well beyond 100% when we start our off-season program."
Ryan threw for 4,719 yards and 32 touchdowns before his injury.
