Mike Smith has said that he will not risk Roddy White if he is not 100% ready on Sunday.
The Atlanta Falcons wide receiver has missed practices this week with a knee injury.
The Falcons head coach told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution: "Roddy felt much better today than he did yesterday. We are going to be very cautious with Roddy in terms of getting ready for the ballgame.
"He probably will not do a whole lot on Friday or Saturday and then we will get him out there on Sunday and see where he's at. But it's hard to keep Roddy White out of a football game."
White has five touchdown for Atlanta this season.
The Falcons, currently the top ranked-side in the NFC conference, face the New York Giants on Sunday.
