New Orleans Saints have moved 9-2 at the top of the NFC South division courtesy of a 17-13 victory over Atlanta Falcons.
A hand-off from Matt Ryan allowed Steven Jackson to rush the endzone from a yard to put the home side in front midway through the first quarter, but the Saints hit back soon after through Benjamin Watson.
Drew Brees supplied the touchdown pass that levelled the scores, and he came up with another good play after Matt Bryant had nudged the Falcons ahead once more with a 39-yard field goal.
The Saints quarterback sent the defence running in the wrong direction before throwing for Jimmy Graham to touch down early in the second quarter, although another kick from Bryant made it 14-13 at the break.
Garrett Hartley stretched the Saints' lead to five points with a 41-yard field goal with just under one minute remaining in the third quarter, and the Falcons were unable to recover the ground, meaning that they slip to 2-9.
