Linebacker Rolando McClain has announced his decision to retire from the NFL at the age of just 23.
McClain, who signed a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens just last month, has been involved with several arrests and is currently awaiting a court appearance in July.
"Rolando let me know that he plans to retire from the NFL," Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome told ESPN. "We have placed him on the Reserve/Retired list."
McClain was a first-round Draft pick for Oakland Raiders and he made 41 appearances before being released at the end of last season.
