Justin Tucker hopes extra points stay

Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker says that he does not want to see extra point abolished from the NFL.

Justin Tucker has said that he would like to see the NFL keep the extra point kicks after touchdowns.

Earlier this week, league commissioner Roger Goodell suggested that the NFL is considering scrapping the extra point, claiming that PATs have become a formality.

The Baltimore Ravens kicker, who is in Hawaii for this weekend's Pro Bowl, told reporters: "For what it's worth, I like the extra point. I like doing my job and I think it's one of those things in the game that sometimes is taken for granted.

"Sure there is a high success rate. There is also a high success rate at the end of the game when a guy is taking a knee. You got to snap the ball. You fumble the snap that makes it a completely different game.

"You look at these quarterbacks throwing for four and five thousand yards a season and they are getting increasingly efficient, but we aren't going to tell the receivers to stop wearing gloves. In my opinion it is the same principle. That is my two cents."

Tucker is yet to miss an extra point kick since entering the league in 2012.
