Buffalo Bills coach Doug Marrone has confirmed that the franchise will not sign another quarterback while EJ Manuel is sidelined.
Manuel was ruled out for the rest of pre-season with a knee injury and has since undergone surgery on the problem, although Marrone stressed that it was a "very, very minor" procedure.
With veteran Kevin Kolb now set to start the season as the Bills' number one quarterback, Marrone believes that Manuel's injury is not serious enough to warrant signing another back-up.
"We're not going to pursue that right now to bring somebody else in which I think says a lot," Marrone told the team's official website.
"We're going to evaluate it after the pre-season and take it day by day after that."
Manuel, who was the Bills' first-round draft pick this year, suffered the injury during Friday's 20-16 pre-season win over the Minnesota Vikings.
