Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte has confirmed that he will report to training camp despite ongoing contract talks.
The 29-year-old is still waiting for the organisation to extend his deal, but insists that they are on good terms at this stage.
"Yeah, [I'll report to camp on time without a new deal]," Forte said, ESPN reports.
"Nobody wants to play on a one-year deal, especially the uncertainty of how football is with how it goes. You just figure like a guy who's been there since day one, continues to put in hard work and has produced, you figure that that guy should be rewarded. But in this business that doesn't always happen."
Forte led the team in rushing yards with 1,038 and 102 receptions last year, while he also leads the league in yards from scrimmage since 2008 with 11,431.
