Manchester United Women will look to maintain their unbeaten Women's Super League record when they travel to the King Power Stadium for Sunday's meeting with Leicester City Women.

The Red Devils will head into matchday eight in fifth place in the WSL table, while Leicester will start the weekend in eighth position.

Match preview

Leicester are currently sitting two points above the relegation spot after winning one, drawing two and losing four of their seven league matches this season.

Amandine Miquel's side took just two points from their first four matches before they ended their wait for a win with a narrow 1-0 home victory over Everton.

Unfortunately for Leicester, they have been unable to build upon that positive result, having gone on to suffer consecutive 1-0 away defeats against Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United.

Having scored just two league goals this season, the Foxes are currently the joint-lowest scorers in the WSL along with Everton, highlighting a key area for improvement if they are to put distance between themselves and the relegation place.

Leicester will hope to offer an improvement in the final third on Sunday as they go in search of their first-ever victory over Man United in the WSL.

Man United are yet to taste defeat this season, but that has not stopped manager Marc Skinner from facing some scrutiny following a flurry of draws.

The Red Devils played out 1-1 scorelines against Brighton and Arsenal, before they were held to an underwhelming goalless draw in their recent home clash with Aston Villa.

Those draws have dented Man United's hopes of mounting a title challenge, with the Red Devils currently sitting seven points adrift of rivals and leaders Manchester City, who have played one game more.

Man United will at least be pleased with their sturdy backline, having conceded just two goals in seven WSL matches this season, ensuring they will go into the weekend with the best defensive record in the top flight.

The Red Devils will certainly fancy their chances of claiming all three points against Leicester after winning five of their previous six meetings in all competitions.

Team News

Leicester are unable to call upon Noemie Mouchon, Jutta Rantala and Lena Petermann, with the trio currently sidelined with knee injuries.

The Foxes are also without the services of midfielder Sam Tierney and forward Shannon O'Brien due to their respective injury issues.

Saori Takarada and Deanne Rose could be considered for starting spots after they came off the bench to play over 20 minutes against West Ham last weekend.

Meanwhile, Skinner has revealed that Man United midfielder Lisa Naalsund will miss Sunday's fixture due to a foot problem.

Evie Rabjohn is sidelined with a serious knee injury, while Leah Galton is a doubt after sitting out the last three matches.

Skinner has confirmed that Anna Sandberg has recovered from injury and will feature in the matchday squad for the trip to the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City Women possible starting lineup:
Leitzig; Ale, Howard, Kees, Nevin; Momiki, Mace; Rose, Takarada, Goodwin; Chossenotte

Manchester United Women possible starting lineup:
Tullis-Joyce; Riviere, Le Tissier, Turner, George; Clinton, Janssen; Geyse, Toone, Bizet; Terland

We say: Leicester City Women 0-2 Manchester United Women

Man United have demonstrated they boast a strong backline, and we think a resolute defence will provide the foundation for them to claim all three points against Leicester to end a run of three consecutive draws.
