The Dallas Cowboys have brought 41-year-old quarterback Jon Kitna out of retirement to sign with the club, according to a report.
Kitna retired from the game after the 2011 season following a 15-year career in the NFL, playing for four different teams including the Cowboys, for whom he played nine games for in 2010 with 4-5 record.
Dallas have brought him in following a reported season-ending injury to Tony Romo and the 41-year-old will serve as backup to Kyle Orton, who is expected to start against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, reports the Fort Worth Star Telegram.
Jason Garrett's side need to beat the Eagles to secure a place in the post-season.
