The Dallas Cowboys show a clinical edge to defeat their NFC East rivals the New York Giants 31-21 to secure their sixth win of the season.

The Dallas Cowboys secured their sixth win in a row as they earned a crucial 31-21 victory over the New York Giants in their NFC East clash.

The Cowboys clicked into gear on their second possession of the first quarter as Tony Romo made several good throws on third down, including one to hand his side the lead when he connected with Gavin Escobar for a 15-yard touchdown.

The Giants took advantage of a generous penalty decision to extend their drive, and they levelled the scores when Eli Manning fired into the endzone to wide open Odell Beckham to make the catch for the nine-yard touchdown.

New York capitalised on a turnover as a slip from Dez Bryant allowed Prince Amukamara to intercept a Tony Romo pass. Manning immediately fired downfield for his tight end Daniel Fells, who bounced off a tackle and ran in for a 27-yard touchdown to put his side ahead.

However, Dallas hit straight back after a big run from DeMarco Murray put them in the Giants' side of the field, and Romo completed the score when he found Terrance Williams at the back of the endzone.

In the second half, Jason Garrett's men found their rhythm once again and Romo notched his third touchdown pass of the game when he delivered a deep strike down the middle for Escobar to fire his side back into the lead.

Dallas began to take charge of the game as Murray recorded NFL history on the ground as he passed the 100-yard mark for the seventh-straight game, surpassing Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown.

The home side continued their physical play when Barry Church forced a fumble from Larry Donnell, which allowed his side to extend their advantage as Murray crashed over for a one-yard score on the goalline.

New York were not to be counted out as Manning showed great accuracy to move his side into the redzone, but on three attempts on the five-yard line the Cowboys kept them at bay. However, on the fourth Manning fired to Beckham in the endzone to bring his side within a score.

The running game of the Cowboys proved too difficult to stop as they added a late field goal from the boot of Dan Bailey after driving up the field, securing an important win.
