Denver Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard has admitted that his side want to establish their "dominance" in the AFC West.
The Broncos currently trail the Kansas City Chiefs at the top of the division by two games and now face a stretch of important games against their rivals, but they will be without head coach John Fox, who is recovering from heart surgery.
Woodyard told the club's official website: "We're back at it after the bye week and ready to start a tough stretch with a lot of division games in front of us. It's really important to get off to a good start against the other AFC West teams. We want to establish that dominance.
"Right now, obviously, we're not first in our division – so that's on our mind. San Diego is a good challenge this week.
"We're on the road, it's just our second division game – and it is against a good team – so we're excited for the opportunity that we've got."
Denver face the San Diego Chargers later today.
