A third NFL meeting between the Manning brothers has seen the Denver Broncos send out a statement of intent with a 41-23 win over the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium.
After a quiet first period, it was the Broncos who struck first but this time neither Manning siblings took the plaudits, as Knowshon Moreno broke free to score with a superb 20-yard run into the endzone.
Josh Brown kept the Giants competitive as they reclaimed the lead thanks to successive field goals, but Matt Prater replied with a 42-yard effort of his own to give the Broncos a 10-9 lead at the interval.
Early in the third quarter Peyton Manning found Wes Walker with a short pass into the endzone for his first score of the evening, only for a powerful run from Brandon Jacobs at the other end to keep the Giants within striking range.
Three quick scores then saw the Broncos finally take advantage of Giants' turnovers to pull clear. First Moreno got his second score with an efficient 25-yard burst through traffic and then found Julius Thomas with an 11-yard pass as he held on to give his team a 15-point lead.
Trindon Holliday's 81-yard punt return two minutes later put the result beyond doubt, with Eli Manning's 23-yard pick to Da'Rel Scott proving meaningless.
Eli's troubles continued late on with an interception that counted as the Giants' fourth turnover, as elder brother Peyton made it three wins in a row in a dominant Broncos success.
