Green Bay Packers wide receiver James Jones has revealed that he played his side's final two games of the season with broken ribs.
The 29-year-old sustained the injury in his team's defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but still managed to feature against the Chicago Bears and in the Packers' playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Jones told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: "I pride myself on being tough. I broke my ribs in Pittsburgh. But I played through it, practised through it.
"You know, when you practice through it, you don't have to put it on the injury report or none of that because I'm out there at practice every day.
"It's part of the game. You've got to go out there. There's a lot of guys out there that's playing with injuries that people don't know about – and then put themselves on the line for their team."
Jones will be a free agent if the Packers chose not to extend his contract before the start of next season.
