The Indianapolis Colts have taken a step closer to clinching the AFC South title after taking a 14-7 lead over divisional rivals the Houston Texans this evening.
After a quiet start to the game, it was Houston who opened the scoring when Kendrick Lewis picked off a pass from Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, returning the interception for a touchdown.
Luck made amends early in the second quarter though, spotting Hakeem Nicks out wide before the receiver ran it over to level the scores.
The Texans were dealt a blow on the next drive when quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick picked up a leg injury, bringing rookie Tom Savage into the game.
A mistimed handoff from Savage to Arian Foster gave the ball back to the Colts though, leaving Luck to pick out tight end Dwayne Allen and give the hosts the lead.
JJ Watt put the Colts quarterback under pressure late in the half, sacking him twice before the break, but the Texans offense could not get the home side back on level terms.
