The Indianapolis Colts ensured that they would go into the playoffs on the back of a victory courtesy of a comfortable 27-10 win over the Tennessee Titans this evening.
A slow opening quarter was finally blessed with its first points towards the end of the period when Andrew Luck picked out a wide-open Coby Fleener on the left for a simple seven-yard touchdown.
The visitors extended their advantage in the second quarter when Luck peeled away to the right before finding Jack Doyle, who collected the ball and reached for the pylon to complete a one-yard score.
Tennessee responded with their first points of the match shortly afterwards, however, as Kendall Wright collected a Charlie Whitehurst pass before diving over the line.
Adam Vinatieri edged his side into a 10-point lead at the break, though, kicking a 23-yard field goal to give his side a cushion at half time.
Ryan Succop reduced the deficit back to seven with the only points of the third quarter, but Vinatieri added another kick of his own in the fourth to restore the advantage.
With the Colts' playoff place already secured, Matt Hasselbeck replaced Luck for the second half and picked up a touchdown pass in the final quarter when Fleener hauled in his second score of the game.
The Titans end the season with a 2-14 record, but will not get the first pick in the 2015 Draft after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were beaten by the New Orleans Saints.
