David Caldwell has said that he is encouraged after examining the Jacksonville Jaguars' roster for the first time.
Caldwell, who took over as general manager at the franchise last month, evaluated the Jaguars' team last week.
He told the team's website: "I'm actually encouraged by what I've seen so far. I kind of went in without any preconceived ideas of the team and just graded each player individually and how they're going to fit into our schemes.
"I'm not completely discouraged with the quarterback on this team. Hopefully, we can have a little foundation here were have the same system, and we'll see where it takes us."
The Jaguars finished the 2012 NFL season 31st out of 32 teams, winning just two of their 16 games.
