The Minnesota Vikings lead in their NFL clash against the Detroit Lions at Mall of America Field.
The Vikings took the lead near the end of the second quarter. Matt Cassel tossed the ball to Cordarelle Patterson, who reversed field and sprinted through a series of tacklers to run in for a 50-yard touchdown.
Minnesota moved down the field seamlessly again as Cassel got them inside the 10-yard line. On first and goal he missed a wide open Jared Allen playing as a tight end, and on third he committed a worse offence as he was picked off by Louis Delmas in the endzone.
The Lions failed to get on the scoreboard as the Vikings managed to kill their drive just before the end of the half.
