The New England Patriots have placed running back Dion Lewis on injured reserve, ending his 2015 season.
The 25-year-old suffered a torn ACL during his side's win over the Washington Redskins when he attempted to make a cut on a run downfield.
An MRI confirmed the diagnosis on Monday and the Patriots moved to place Lewis on season-ending injured reserve to free up space on their roster for a replacement.
Lewis had accumulated 622 yards from scrimmage this season, scoring four touchdowns.
