New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees continued his form from last week, as he threw for two touchdowns and rushed for one more to give his side a 21-17 lead heading into the second half.
With the first drive of the game, Brees helped move the Saints down the field and he found his tight end Josh Hill for the 10-yard touchdown.
The Titans then forced a fumble from punt returner Marcus Murphy but they could not tie up the scores as they settled for a Ryan Succop field goal.
Brees continued to shine in the first quarter as he passed downfield to Brandin Cooks for a 38-yard reception and cross the goalline to make it 14-3 to the home side.
On the next drive, Tennessee score a strange touchdown after a Marcus Mariota heave downfield was tipped in the air by two Saints defensive backs, who ran into each other. Delanie Walker picked up the pieces before he drove the ball into the endzone to bring his side back into the game.
However, Brees added more punishment in the second quarter 32-yard pass to Willie Snead before the Saints quarterback ran the ball in himself to put his team back into a comfortable lead.
Walker would get his second touchdown of the game on the Titans' next possession as he was left alone in the endzone to haul in the two-yard pass play.
The away team had one last chance before the break to take the lead but the Saints defence forced a fumble from Dexter McCluster to end the first half of action.
