Two quick second-half touchdowns help the Philadelphia Eagles win 39-17 against the New Orleans Saints.

The Philadelphia Eagles put up 29 points in the second half as they ran out 39-17 winners against the New Orleans Saints at Lincoln Financial field.

Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford started poorly, with Brandon Browner intercepting a pass in the endzone that eventually led to Drew Brees finding Saints tight end Benjamin Watson for a six-yard touchdown.

Bradford's afternoon did not improve moments later, as he threw the ball away to Delvin Breaux but the Saints could not capitalise on the extra possession.

However, the Eagles' 27-year-old quarterback would finally have a positive play, finding Josh Huff for a 41-yard touchdown after two Saints defenders ran into each other in coverage.

Philadelphia would then take the lead just before half time as Caleb Sturgis scored his first field goal in an Eagles' uniform to put them 10-7 up at the break.

New Orleans managed to pull level early in the third quarter through a Zach Hocker field goal but the Eagles moved further ahead thanks to a Ryan Matthews two-yard rushing touchdown minutes later.

Fletcher Cox forced a fumble seconds later that the Eagles would cash in, with Brent Celek scoring the team's second touchdown within seconds but Sturgis missed the extra point.

The Eagles would continue to apply pressure, with Sturgis hitting three consecutive field goals to kill the game off in the fourth quarter.

Brees would gift the Eagles another touchdown in the final few minutes, with Walter Thurmond intercepting the quarterback for his third turnover before DeMarco Murray ran the ball home from four yards out.

Brandin Cooks would then score a garbage-time touchdown that did little to affect the final score.

The Eagles rise to 2-3 and are back in the mix in the NFC East while the Saints sit bottom of the NFC South at 1-4.
