The Carolina Panthers scored a touchdown with just 23 seconds left of their match against the New Orleans Saints to clinch a 17-13 win in a crucial clash at the top of the NFC South this evening.
The first points of the match did not come until the second quarter when Shayne Graham opened the scoring with a 40-yard field goal on his debut for the Saints.
Graham added another midway through the quarter to extend his side's lead to six, this time slotting his kick over from 24 yards.
However, it was the Panthers who went into the halfway stage in the lead as DeAngelo Williams burst through the defensive line before racing 43 yards into the endzone.
Graham Gano added another three points for the hosts midway through the third quarter as he kicked a 40-yard field goal to open up a four-point gap.
The Saints regained their lead in the fourth quarter when Drew Brees floated a five-yard pass to Jimmy Graham in the endzone for his team's first touchdown of the match.
There was more late drama to come, however, as Cam Newton found Domenik Hixon in the endzone with a 14-yard pass in the final minute to secure a victory that puts the Panthers in control of the NFC South.
