The New York Giants have headed into half time with an eight-point lead over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, opening up a 17-9 lead at the interval.
Connor Barth handed the Buccaneers an early lead from a short field goal, but the Giants were soon level, with Odell Beckham Jr getting the visitors into a strong field position before Josh Brown made the kick.
Jason Pierre-Paul, who is featuring for the Giants for the first time since the firework accident that resulted in his right index finger being amputated, helped stop Jameis Winston connecting with Mike Evans for a Tampa Bay touchdown, but Barth added another field goal.
The visiting side were soon heading back down the other end though, setting up Eli Manning to launch a pass to Rueben Randle, who was unmarked in the endzone, giving the Giants the first touchdown of the game.
The Giants were in again early in the second quarter as Beckham broke free down the left, before Manning picked out Shane Vereen on the edge of the endzone a couple of plays later, but Barth added another field goal before the break, keeping the scores close.
