The New York Giants finished the first half of their game against the Houston Texans strongly to take a 14-0 lead into half time at the MetLife Stadium this evening.
Eli Manning was sacked early on by JJ Watt as the Texans defense caused problems for the home side, but Ryan Fitzpatrick was intercepted by Prince Amukamara to prevent Houston from capitalising.
The Giants recovered to set up a field goal opportunity for kicker Josh Brown, but the attempt was blocked to keep the tie scoreless heading into the second quarter.
New York eventually opened the scoring late in the second quarter when Victor Cruz hauled in a deep pass from Manning for his first touchdown of the season.
Rashad Jennings doubled their lead just a few minutes later after another Fitzpatrick interception gave the Giants the ball back at the one-yard line.
