New York Giants owner John Mara has revealed that he intends to keep head coach Tom Coughlin at the club despite missing the playoffs for a second-straight season.
The Giants started the year 0-6 but staged a revival in the second half of their season to finish 7-9 and earn third place in the NFC East.
Despite these failings Mara wants Coughlin to return, but did admit that the future of offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride could be in doubt.
"I expressed to Tom we do want him back," Mara told reporters. "I do have confidence in him. I think our offense is broken. Certainly there are some changes within the entire organisation that need to be made."
Coughlin himself stated that he wanted to come back to coach for another season.
