The Philadelphia Eagles shut out the New York Giants as they cruise to a comfortable 27-0 victory in their NFC East clash.

The Philadelphia Eagles dominated the New York Giants in their NFC East clash as they cruised to a 27-0 victory.

The Eagles started the game well as Nick Foles moved his side downfield, but they were unable to breach the Giants' defense in the endzone and Cody Parkey fired them ahead with a 31-yard field goal.

Philadelphia continued to press at the visitors and scored a touchdown with an impressive throw by Foles which was equalled by the catch of tight end Zach Ertz in the endzone, as he made a leaping grab for the 15-yard score.

Chip Kelly's side didn't let the Giants settle on offense and yielded five sacks of Eli Manning in the first half, and that helped give them a short field to attack. Foles used this to his advantage as he found James Casey for a 26-yard strike.

The Eagles added another field goal just before the break from the boot of Parkey from 45 yards to give them a 20-point advantage at the half.

After the break, New York responded with a drive downfield and Manning connected with Larry Donnell in the endzone, only to see the touchdown chalked off for a holding penalty.

Two plays later, Manning threw into the endzone again, but this time Victor Cruz dropped the ball and went down in agony. The 27-year-old was later diagnosed with a torn patella tendon.

Following a lengthy delay, the Eagles put the game out of sight for the visitors when they drove the length of the field and Darren Sproles went over the left-side of the line for a 15-yard touchdown to secure the victory.
