Super Bowl champions the Seattle Seahawks lose 30-21 to the San Diego Chargers in the second week of the 2014 NFL season.

The Seattle Seahawks have lost their second game of the 2014 NFL season after going down 30-21 to the San Diego Chargers.

Percy Harvin scored the first touchdown of the game, making a blistering run down the sideline for a 51-yard score, although replays suggested that the officials missed the wide receiver stepping out of bounds.

The Chargers came back in the second quarter, as Philip Rivers picked out tight end Antonio Gates for two touchdowns, while Nick Novak kicked his second field goal of the day.

Robert Turbin kept the Super Bowl champions in contention heading into the break, hauling in a short pass from Russell Wilson with just seconds to spare.

Gates got the better of the Seahawks defense again early in the third as Rivers targeted him with a 21-yard pass for his third score of the day.

The Seahawks made sure that they kept the game close heading into the fourth quarter, with Wilson setting up Marshawn Lynch for a trip into the endzone.

Still trailing by six heading into the final two minutes, Lynch tried to convert a third down for Seattle, but the running back was buried under several Chargers players and did not progress to the line.

Rivers and the Chargers offense came back on to run down the clock before Novak kicked a 28-yard field goal, putting the win beyond doubt and extending their home winning run to four games.
