Jon Baldwin has revealed that he has been putting in extra work in practice with quarterback Colin Kaepernick in order to move up the San Francisco 49ers' depth chart.
The former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver moved to the NFC West side in a trade late in the pre-season, which saw AJ Jenkins head the other way.
The 24-year-old told the team's website: "I'm just trying to get on the same page with Colin and do all the things he needs me to do to get on the field.
"I finally got an opportunity so, it's been good. Not being able to get those throws with him, after practice was the most time for me to get opportunity to get some throws with him. It was a good thing to do.
I took a lot of notes on them, things they do well and things they don't do as well. I wanted to help, but I understood I had to get on the same page with Colin, do all the things he needed me to do to finally get that opportunity."
Baldwin made his regular season debut for the 49ers last week, taking two receptions for 19 yards.
