The Seattle Seahawks have announced that they have released defensive tackle Tony McDaniel.
The 30-year-old joined the NFC West side from the Miami Dolphins in the 2013 season and played an integral part in their Super Bowl triumph.
McDaniel started 14 games for Pete Carroll's men last season, and was part of the team that was defeated in the Super Bowl by the New England Patriots.
However, the Seahawks have opted to cut the 30-year-old to save money on the salary cap after they awarded contract extensions to Bobby Wagner and Russell Wilson.
McDaniel has recorded 203 tackles and 10.5 sacks in his nine years in the NFL.
