Andrew Luck throws six touchdown passes as the Indianapolis Colts thrash the Washington Redskins 49-27.

The Indianapolis Colts cruised to a 49-27 win over the Washington Redskins, despite committing turnovers on their first two drives this evening.

Quarterback Andrew Luck lost the ball on the first play of the day when he fumbled, allowing Kai Forbath to open the scoring for the visitors with a field goal.

Luck's struggles continued with their next possession as he had a pass intercepted, but he kept his nerve at the third time of asking to pick out Coby Fleener with a 30-yard pass for a touchdown.

His recovery continued in the second quarter as he connected with Dan Herron to extend Indianapolis's lead, while TY Hilton picked up a touchdown for the second game running shortly before the break.

The Redskins were still in the game at the interval though as Roy Helu broke free to add Washington's first touchdown of the game after Alfred Morris had had one disallowed moments earlier.

Luck continued to find his rhythm after the break, tossing the ball deep to Donte Moncrief shortly after Logan Paulsen had shaken off a couple of tackles to add another for the NFC East side.

The Redskins tried to continue their comeback, but Colt McCoy lost the ball under a sack from D'Qwell Jackson, who recovered the ball and returned it for another Colts score.

Luck looked sharp again as he came back onto the field with the Colts offense, completing a touchdown pass to Fleener for the second time in the game.

DeSean Jackson tried to give the visitors some late hope with their third touchdown of the meeting, but picked up a leg injury that ruled him out of the remainder of the game.

Luck was not done as the game headed into the fourth quarter, as he tossed a 79-yard pass to Moncrief for his sixth touchdown pass of the game.

The result leaves the Colts two wins clear at the top of the AFC South with an 8-4 record, while the Redskins sit bottom in the NFC East with just three wins this season.
