England's Greg Rutherford has recorded victory in the final of the long jump at the Commonwealth Games thanks to a dominant performance inside Hampden Park.
The Olympic champion, who needed just one effort in Tuesday's qualifying round to reach the final, clinched the gold medal with a third jump of 8.20m.
South Africa's Zarck Visser was the only man left in the field who could have denied Rutherford the win ahead of his final effort, but he fell well short of the required distance, and was forced to settle for second thanks to his earlier jump of 8.12m.
Visser's teammate Rushwahl Samaai secured the bronze medal, with Australia's Fabrice Lapierre being knocked off the podium by the two South Africans.
Rutherford's fellow Englishman Chris Tomlinson failed to jump over 8m, and he could only manage a fifth-place finish in the final.
