Sir Clive Woodward has confirmed that he will no longer stand as the director of sport at the British Olympic Association.
The former England rugby coach, who has been with the board for six years, had been rumoured to be considering his position following a restructuring programme that was undertaken last month due to a number of financial issues, which removed three senior positions.
The 56-year-old has officially confirmed his intentions to resign, claiming that he wants to focus on "coaching, corporate speaking, media and other business interests".
Woodward went on to say: "Post London 2012 is the right time for me to leave Team GB, which is now taking a new direction following a home games."
The former rugby player is expected to keep an ambassadorial role as well as his seat on the International Olympic Committee's entourage commission.
