The 800m is all that stands between Great Britain's Jessica Ennis and an Olympic gold medal in the heptathlon.
The 26-year-old headed into day two of the event leading with four disciplines completed.
Today began with the long jump, where Ennis produced a best jump of 6.48m. That was enough for her to claim second spot behind Russia's Tatyana Chernova, who leapt 6.54m.
Ennis and her fellow competitors then moved into the field with the javelin. The Sheffield-based athlete produced another personal best to go with the two that she made yesterday with a throw of 47.49m.
The 800m will be run later this evening at around 8.30pm.
