Detroit Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings has reportedly accepted that he will not be ready to return to competitive action in the opening month of the season.
Jennings was forced to undergo an operation after rupturing his Achilles tendon in January, and the Pistons have avoided setting a return date for the 25-year-old.
According to NBA.com, a Pistons source has stated that Jennings is "not close to being cleared" as he bids to get back to his best for the new campaign.
The Pistons signed Reggie Jackson to a five-year deal in the off-season and have since recruited veteran point guard Steve Blake to provide support as Jennings continues his recovery.
