Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James is reportedly set for a week on the sidelines with an abdominal strain.
The 36-year-old played no part in his side's 104-107 defeat to the Oklahoma Thunder on Thursday and is now thought to be facing more time out of action.
The Athletic's Shams Charania wrote on Twitter: "Lakers star LeBron James is expected to miss at least one week with abdominal strain. Lakers want to be cautious with James' injury early this season."
As a result, James is set to sit out Sunday's trip to the Portland Trail Blazers, while his participation against the Charlotte Hornets and former club Miami Heat is also in doubt.
The four-time NBA champion previously escaped another serious ankle injury back in October following a scare in his side's victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.
James has averaged 24.8 points per game this term and most recently banked 30 points and 10 assists in Wednesday's 119-117 success over the Houston Rockets. body check tags ::
