The Memphis Grizzlies were forced to hold off a late charge from the Atlanta Hawks before securing a 108-101 victory at the FedExForum on Sunday night.
Memphis dominated the first two quarters and looked well set for a comfortable win when the players returned to the court for the second half of the game.
Despite leading by 77-64 early in the third quarter, the Grizzlies were surprised by a rejuvenated Hawks teams as the visitors went on to score 16 unanswered points to take the lead in the opening stages of the final period.
Coach Dave Joerger was forced to bring back Mike Conley, who finished the game with 21 points and 13 assists, and he was well supported by 18 points and 12 rebounds from Zach Randolph, as the hosts produced a strong display in the final few minutes to claim the win.
