LeBron James has said that his body "failed" during the first game in the NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs earlier this week.
The four-time MVP had to leave the game, which the Spurs won 110-95, early after struggling with cramp during the fourth quarter following an air conditioning malfunction at the AT&T Center.
The forward told reporters: "For obvious reasons, I was angry, I was disappointed in myself. I did everything that I needed to do to prepare for this game, prepare for this moment and to feel like my body failed me.
"I was angry in the fact that I couldn't help my team get over the hump. In a huge game one, I wanted to make a statement."
James scored 25 points during the defeat on Thursday.
