Kevin Garnett has waived the no-trade clause in his Brooklyn Nets contract in order to return to the Minnesota Timberwolves ahead of the trade deadline.
The 38-year-old forward, who joined the Nets in 2013, was linked with a return to the side that drafted him in 1995.
According to Minneapolis radio station KFAN FM, the deal will see Thad Young head to the Atlantic Division side.
Garnett has averaged 6.8 points per game with Brooklyn this season.
