New Orleans Pelicans point guard Tyreke Evans has undergone arthroscopic knee surgery after battling with an ongoing issue.
Evans revealed that he had been playing through the pain barrier during the playoffs, with the Pelicans eliminated in the first round by the Golden State Warriors.
It is expected that he will be sidelined for between four and six weeks before returning to basketball activities.
The Pelicans believe that he will be ready to rejoin them for the start of training camp next season, while they will also look to name a new head coach.
The 25-year-old averaged 16.6 points, 6.6 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game last season.
